Violet takes you on journey to create an amber bead necklace in the workshop of Annemarie who has been making jewelry for decades and is sharing her knowledge! First they cut the amber, which is a ‘resin,’ not a gem stone. The the cut shape gets filed down smooth, and drilled with a really cool jeweler’s drill that is operated by a foot pedal. Once it’s drilled, it gets sanded and then polished with metal polish until it shines!
Then Annemarie shows Violet how to choose a chain – they pick a fine gold link chain that looks very elegant with the bead – and hardware, which is the clasp and hooks that allow you to actually wear it – and then the final reveal!
